INOUI ID CORECUT ENVIRONMENTS

Shiseido Cosmetics, Shiseido Cosmetics, Multiple Site, Japan

The second of two phases of work aimed at radicalizing the idea of the cosmetic sales environment, CoreCut incorporated a vast array of retail requirements using a highly flexible series of modular translucent pods. The completed project served to create a new brand identity for one of the company’s cosmetics/skin care lines and challenges the conventions of the industry’s sales and display techniques.

Product cases finished in the Inoui ID’s signature red color are hidden - suspended within a thick translucent tissue. Cutting Strategies were developed that systematically revealed the diverse programmatic counter interiors through a series of precision cuts into the obscuring resin. These cuts provide sometime visual, sometimes physical access to the testers, display, stock, or transaction functions within each pod.
